Bostik Racing has achieved another front-row qualifying performance in Round 3 of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia at The Bend Motorsport Park today, Dylan O’Keeffe finishing second in the Pro Driver qualifying session after an intense battle with Broc Feeney and Garth Tander.
O’Keeffe and Feeney traded fastest times throughout the session, O’Keeffe eventually falling just 0.1s short of pole but still securing a valuable starting position on the front row of the grid.
“That was an epic session and it was a lot of fun,” O’Keeffe said.
“The tyre life was good and the tyres actually lasted longer than I expected, so I was able to punch out a sequence of fast laps.
“Pole would have been nice, but the car is fast and it will be good over the race distances tomorrow and Sunday.”
In the Am qualifying session, Tony Bates was fourth in the class.
“Practice this morning was good – I definitely made some improvements compared to our test day last week,” Bates said.
“In qualifying, I didn’t quite have the ultimate one-lap speed, but the consistency is there which will be important over the 60-minute race distances we’re facing this weekend.”
The opening GT race will take place at 11:35 tomorrow morning and will be shown live on Fox Sports 506 and Kayo Sports.
