Jason Miller has completed his debut round in Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge with another fourth-place finish, to round out a consistent maiden weekend in the category.
Miller ran inside the lead pack throughout the 11 lap race, and said he gained valuable knowledge by following the front-runners.
“In that race, I was able to watch the top three drivers and look at how their cars were behaving compared to mine,” Miller said.
“They were getting much better drive out of the slow corners than me, which is the main area where I was losing ground.”
Miller’s solid points haul sees him placed fourth in the series standings after the opening round, a satisfying result from him and his small team.
“We don’t have anywhere near the resources or knowledge base of the drivers and teams we’re competing against, so we’re all absolutely stoked to come away with three top-five finishes and to be fourth in the championship after the opening round,” he said.
“We’re operating on a very tight budget, which is going to present some challenges for us to put together a full season campaign in Sprint Challenge, but off the back of our great result this weekend, we’ll be doing our best to make it to the next round.”
Round 2 of the Porsche Michelin Sprint Challenge will be held at Phillip Island, 24-26 June.
