FullGas Racing Hoping for Home Ground Advantage

FullGas Racing drivers Dimitri Agathos and Lachlan Gibbons are hoping for a home ground advantage in this weekend’s third round of the Australian Production Car Series at Sydney Motorsport Park.

The two Sydney drivers will race their Nova Employment/Castrol/Whiteline/Hog’s Breath Café North Parramatta & Castle Hill Subaru WRX STI in the marathon race meeting, which includes no less than four 74-minute endurance races.

With a single compulsory pit stop in each race and no refuelling required, the FullGas team is keeping their strategy options open, with the possibility that Agathos and Gibbons will each be in the car for two entire races.

Agathos says the car should perform well around the Sydney Motorsport Park circuit.

“The Subaru tends to be a well-balanced car through the high-speed corners, and we also have the advantage of all-wheel-drive traction for the slower corners, and SMP has a mixture of both,” Agathos said.

“It’s all about consistency, strategy and reliability,” Gibbons added.

“As we demonstrated at Winton, if we can have a trouble-free run and the car runs reliably, we can finish on the podium.”

The team will have two Nova Employment-supported pit crew assistants in attendance over the weekend.

Sunday’s action will be live streamed via the Shannons Nationals website.
