Heaths Second in Class D in Friday B6HR Practice

The Homegas/RaceAway Track Time of Graeme and Josh Heath has recorded the second-fastest time in Class D after opening practice for the Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour today.

The Heaths improved by almost four seconds from the first session to the second, and were just 0.5s away from the class-leading entry of Jimmy Vernon and Mark Caine.

For Graeme Heath, it was a case of reacquainting himself with Mount Panorama, while son Josh completed his first-ever laps around the iconic circuit.

“It was a very encouraging day overall – we’ve already gone quicker this year than we went last year, and to be as close as we are to the class leader’s pace is very pleasing,” Graeme Heath said.

“Today was all about ensuring Josh was able to get comfortable with the track, and he has done a very good job.

“There are still some improvements we can find with the car, especially to make it handle better across the top of the mountain, so we’ll make some changes overnight and hopefully fine-tune it for tomorrow,” Heath concluded.

The Homegas/RaceAway Track Time Toyota 86 returns to the track for Practice 3 at 7:40 tomorrow morning, followed by qualifying at 12:50.
