Prestige Winery Expands Carrera Cup Involvement

Award-winning winery, restaurant and wedding venue, Zonzo Estate has stepped up its involvement in Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, unveiling a striking new livery for Dean Cook’s Ashley Seward Motorsport 911 GT3 Cup car for this weekend’s third round of the series at the NTI Townsville 500.

Located in the picturesque Yarra Valley, Zonzo Estate has existed in its current guise since 2007, with its winery consisting of more than 45 acres of vineyards and relying upon the skills of some of the best winemakers in the region.

Zonzo Estate’s restaurant offers lunch and dinner services, specialises in authentic Italian cuisine and is renowned for its sharing-style menu.

Meanwhile, the wedding venue can cater for up to 140 guests and has won multiple awards, including the number one Restaurant Reception in Australia at the ABIA Designer of Dreams Awards each year since 2015.

Zonzo Director Rod Micallef said the Estate’s involvement in Carrera Cup complements its support of other racing categories.

“We love all forms of racing at Zonzo, from motocross to hot air balloons, racing around the restaurant during a busy lunch service and now cars!” Micallef said.

“We love good competition and to be part of the Carrera Cup is really exciting. We love the look of the new livery and can’t wait to see it on the track this weekend.

“Being involved in these events brings us a lot of joy. Making wine is a slow process – waiting for the grapes to grow, picking them, processing them into wine, barrelling and waiting for it to be ready. Racing is so far removed from our day-to-day and it adds plenty of excitement for us.

“Being long-time friends with Dean makes this experience even more special. We wish him all the very best and hope for some good results.”

The Zonzo Estate Porsche Carrera Cup car will be on track for practice today, with qualifying and racing to be held tomorrow and Sunday.

Catch all the action from this weekend’s Carrea Cup round live on FOX Sports 506 and Kayo Sports, with Races 1 and 3 to also be shown on Channel 7.
