Scott Taylor will line up on the grid this weekend for round two of the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup at The Bend Motorsport Park, racing for Ashley Seward Motorsport alongside Dale Wood, Geoff Emery and Dean Cook.
In the opening round of the season at Sandown Raceway Taylor bounced back from a DNF in race one to claim fifth in the Morris Finance Pro-Am class in the final race of the weekend amidst treacherous weather conditions.
Taylor said having someone of Wood’s experience in the team is a major advantage.
“It’s beneficial for me to be working with a driver like Dale, who can help me with the basic fundamentals of my driving and is also useful for giving me feedback on the track conditions as they change throughout the weekend,” said Taylor.
At 4.95 kilometres in length, the International layout in use at The Bend is considerably longer than Sandown’s 3.1 kilometre circuit and regarded as a much more flowing racetrack.
“The Bend is an open, flowing track with plenty of passing opportunities and run-off areas,” Taylor said.
“It’s a circuit where you can push to the limits, without the consequences necessarily being too severe.
“As always, my goal is to keep improving as the weekend goes on, stay out of trouble and enjoy some good battles with the drivers around my pace.”
The OTR SuperSprint will host round two of the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup at The Bend Motorsport park from May 7-9.
All Saturday and Sunday sessions will be shown live on FOX Sports and Kayo Sports.
